Roll-A-Matic external tools are designed
to roller burnish the outside diameter of cylindrical parts. There are
five standard series of Roll-A-Matic external tools. Each series is
capable of burnishing a range of diameters.
Race assemblies for tools in the same series are interchangeable. To
change from one tool diameter to another simply loosen three set
screws, remove the race assembly and replace it with an assembly of the desired size. This feature can save up to 50% of the cost of a
complete tool and will help keep inventories low.
Roll-A-Matic external tools feature a positive spring-loaded pin
adjustment which permits diameter adjustment in .0001” (.0025 mm)
increments. Adjustments are made without the use of any other tools
and without removing the tool from the drive spindle. Simply pull back
on the spring-loaded collar to disengage the lock pins and rotate it
to achieve the desired size. Release the collar back into the locking
position and the tool is ready for operation.
Roll-A-Matic external tools are available in self-feeding, machine
feeding and bottoming styles. Morse taper and straight shanks are
standard, however, flange mount and automotive shanks will be
furnished upon request.
